  10. Install on Ice Machine or other Equipment Inline

  11. Preparing the Unit • Make sure all canisters have new, clean filters in them • Disinfect all discharge outlets and hoses with a bleach / water solution • A ¼ cup to 1 gallon of water solution is generally a good ratio but use the ratio that is appropriate for your facility. Let sit in bleach water for 2 minutes.

  12. AC or DC Power If using 120 AC power; plug the Power Supply into a 120 volt outlet. Then plug the 12 volt plug into the Power Supply If using a 12 volt battery, attach the alligator clips to the battery terminals. Then plug the 12 volt accessory plug into the pig-tail.

  13. Solar Power • The Solar Panel charges a 12 volt gel-cell battery built into the unit. The battery powers the FW-60 unit. • To charge the battery plug the Solar Panel into the inlet on the control panel. Allow the unit to charge in the sunlight for 4 – 6 hours. • The battery should last a good 3 – 4 hours of intermittent use.

  14. Turning the FW-60 On • Press the toggle switch the appropriate direction. • Solar to use the internal battery • AUX to use the AC Power Supply or an external battery. • Both the pump and the UV bulb will turn on when the toggle switch is operated.

  15. UV Bulb To check to see if the UV bulb is working look into the Peep Sight Note: This picture shows the UV bulb illuminated. When in actual use the UV bulb will not be visible because it is inside a black canister. Warning: Exposure to UV light can cause skin and eye damage. Do not look directly at the UV bulb.

  16. Flowing the FW-60 • Connect to the appropriate power supply • Place the hose into a static water source or connect to the water system or other equipment • Flip the toggle switch to turn the unit on • Allow a few minutes for the pump to prime and water to fill the canisters • Flow for a few minutes to flush any debris out of the system and hoses.

  17. Cleaning the FW-60 • Remove the intake hose from the source water • Allow the unit to run for a few minutes to purge the water out of the system • Disconnect all connections • Remove all filter canisters; remove and discard used filters; dry out the inside of the canisters. • If possible, allow the unit to air dry several days before replacing canisters. • Drain hoses • Store the unit with no filters installed. Filters will be installed before the next use. • Clean the unit as good as possible. The unit can be disinfected at your discretion but is not required. Disinfecting the unit is always done before it is used.

  18. Preventative Maintenance Every 6 months: • Plug the UV power supply in and make sure the bulb is working • Use the solar panel to charge the battery as needed • Remove canisters and make sure the O-rings are still lubricated • Make sure all parts and hoses are with the unit and haven’t been lost or repurposed.
