  1. Quality video in your classroom; It’s easy, it’s fun, it’s free Show relevant videos which are in easy-to-use segments, or can be shown from start to finish

  2. There are many video sources • Your library. You can search by title OR by topic on your library catalog. Just go to your school’s site, go to the library and click on the catalog. You can borrow from any of Averill Park’s school video collections. We can usually interlibrary loan videos in a day. • Online. There are many online sources. Let’s start with the “Cadillac”.

  3. United Streaming • Be careful. It’s addictive! • Go to www.unitedstreaming.com/ • Username: aphsaphs • Password: aphs • We use this at the high school. Check with your librarian about your school’s username and password • Enter your search term. Notice that many videos are in segments. They can be shown in increments or as a complete video.

  4. Don’t want to wait for your video to load or nervous about a tech glitch? • Save your video to the network. Now you can save videos to share with colleagues. Keep your videos in unit folders….now you won’t have to reinvent the wheel each year. This also saves space on our server. Why have several copies of the same video? • Bring up your desired video. On the video breakdown on the right, RIGHT click on the little download button and then click on “save target as”. Now choose where you want it. Congratulations! You did it!

  5. Yes, there’s more to YouTube than skateboard crashes! • Most of us know YouTube as a fun place to go to watch funny, homemade goofy videos but there’s much more. • There’s great educational videos done in animation as well as all kinds of topics covered. • YouTube is blocked by our filter at the network level but Lynn Burdick can remove the block from your account. It just requires an email. • Always look for videos here without a student audience as there is much inappropriate material on YouTube.com

  6. Another good video source: • www.Wmht.org/vitalny Videos with great content AND aligned to the NYS learning standards. There’s even lesson plans! • www.watchknow.org
