  1. The Ever Changing Fashion in Women: A Sneak Peak! Some say fashion is evolutionary, not revolutionary. Culture is forever evolving and so is the fashion trends in men and women, at a rapid pace. Every single season, fashion designers are pressured to launch new range of interesting designs to meet the expectations of the buyers and sparkle the interest of the consumers. These evolutions in tastes and preferences have transformed the traditional clothes into highly fashionable garments. Women have always been aware of changes in fashion and affected by fashion, and with time, accepting and adopting even those considered revolutionary at one time and making conscious and unconscious fashion choices of these designs without a second thoughts. These outlier designs have become "extraordinarily ordinary". They form a part of the our culture and immerse into women's daily life, impacting and shaping the way women express different sides of their individuality at different occasions. Then the revolutionary needs to evolve as well within the realm of revolutionary. After all, what is difficult after a revolution is to keep renewing, aka evolving. This ever changing fashion has also influenced the designing process to a large degree by pushing out designs in a plethora of silhouettes, proportions, and shades in the modern fashion industry, making revolution even harder. Dare we say that this is one reason that revolution is rare in the fashion industry these days. Designers choose to stay in the safe zone to sell and survive. The evolution of women's fashion is a worldwide phenomena which not only applies to clothing, but also translates to the essential accessories that women wear, to match the latest trends in the world of fashion. From jewelries to handbags, from wristwatches to footwear, the impact of fashion on women has never been confined to one single object. The trends in accessories often times serve as the factor to bringing in new trends in apparel designs as well. Evolution or revolution, the good news is that fashion have always intrigued and excited women. There are people embracing uniqueness and expressing individuality through their fashion choices. Time and time again, old trends pave ways for new trends to come with more new trends. I secretly hope to see the revolutionary moment again in fashion soon. Fashion fades, but style is eternal. Life fades, but (revolutionary) spirit is forever. Ps: Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyaki, and Rei Wakakubo are the three Japanese fashion designers who have revolutionized the fashion industry dominated by the western aesthetics and tailoring technique in the 1980s. They utilized black in their designs heavily and introduced daring silhouettes, novel techniques and anti-traditional aesthetics in their designs (e.g., holes in the sweaters, voluminous pants and jackets, pleated tops, and foldable clothes.) Until today, they are still acting as "the other voice" in the international fashion scene evolving around their revolutionary design concepts.
