  2. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Here is the jist: • During a New Year’s Eve feast at Camelot, a strange figure pays the King Arthur’s court an unexpected visit. • He challenges the groups leader to a game. • The game involves an axe, a sharp one.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight • The game: strike the Green Knight with his own axe andthe challenger will have 1 year to find him to receive a strike in return. • Meaning both will die…? • Don’t question this too much • King Arthur doesn’t jump at the game. • Green Knight mocks his silence. • Sir Gawain (King Arthur’s nephew)takes the challenge.
