Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) in Fresno County aims to provide essential meals and nutrition education to children and families during summer months. Operated by the Economic Opportunity Commission, the program collaborates with various local entities, including parks, recreation centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, churches, and schools, to reach underserved communities. In 2012, over 150,000 meals were served across 101 sites, enhancing children's access to healthy food options and encouraging physical activity through engaging recreation opportunities.
