  1. Warm up 2/27/13 • Question: What is the difference between mass and weight? • Answer: • Weight depends on gravity. • Mass is the amount of matter in a substance, weight is the force a mass experiences because of gravity. • Goal: I will learn gravity, mass and weight.

Element of the day • 47 – Silver – Ag • Silver is the most reflective metal, and the best electrical conductor. • The main problem with silver is that it tarnishes (reacts with oxygen). • Silver is much cheaper than gold, so it can be used in coins (and has been for about 3,000 years), but is still too expensive to commonly be used for electrical applications, so copper is usually used, which is only about 10% less conductive.
