  7. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Coaching Officer Must have a keen interest in and experience of coaching. Identify coaching needs of club from u-6 to u-16. Put a coaching plan in place to address these needs. Determine “ What does the club expect”.

  8. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Consider the following : How many coaches do we need. What coaching qualification level do we need. Where do we need the most coaches. Where do we need the higher qualified coaches. The placing of coaches along the line u-6 to u-16.

  9. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Aims To provide assistant coaches to all age groups u-6 to u16 in year one. To provide a level 1 coach to all age groups u-6 to u-16 over a three year period.

  10. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Year 1: Organise Foundation Level Coaching Courses to ensure a plentiful supply of basic level coaches.

  11. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Year 2 : Organise Award 1 Child and Youth Coaching Courses to provide four/five Level 1 coaches.

  12. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Year 3 : To have a Level 1 coach and assistant coaches with every age group.

  13. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Concentrate on Skill Development in all age groups with a strong emphasis on skill technique.

  14. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Workshops for Specific Skill Development : Striking /Kicking Goalkeeping/Free taking Tackling Fundamental Movement in Sport Catching Team Play Defending/Attacking etc. ( 1 or 2 per year )

  15. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh Games Decide on a games schedule. U-8 / u10 a minimum of 10 games per year in each code as : Go Games Blitzes, Mini Tournaments. U- 12 a minimum of 12 games in each code per year as : Mini Leagues, Tournaments.

  16. Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh U-14 a minimum of 14 games in each code per year as: Championship, In-house Tournaments. U- 16 a minimum of 14 games in each code per year as : Championship, Leagues, In-house Tournament, School Competitions. ( Teenagers, School, Social,Work, etc.)

Coaching Structures 2012 CLG Corcaigh By asking the questions of the team coaches you are handing over to them “part ownership” of the plan with a responsibility to develop and deliver through the Club Coaching Plan. We will all lead by good example when fuelled by the belief that our inputs are understood and valued.
