  2. Landforms Puget Sound is the major landform in Seattle. It is a system of waterways and basins connected through the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Salish Sea. Lake Washington is a freshwater lake. The lake connects Seattle to its neighbors Bellevue, Renton, and Kirkland. Lake Washington is located on the eastern side of Seattle.
  3. Tourist Attractions Space Needle Seattle Aquarium The Space Needle is a tower in Seattle built for the 1962 World’s Fair. This building is 50 years old as of April 21, 2012. The Space Needle is 605 feet high. When it was completed, the Space Needle was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. The Space Needle is located on 400 Broad Street. The Seattle Aquarium is a public aquarium opened in 1977. It was opened the same year the Seattle Marine Aquarium closed. The Seattle Aquarium is located on Pier 59 on Elliot Bay waterfront. There are about 900,000 visitors a year at the Seattle Aquarium.
  4. Tourist Attractions Woodland Park Zoo EMP Museum Pacific Science Center The EMP Museum is a museum of the history of music, science fiction and pop culture. The museum is located in the Seattle Center. The EMP Museum was opened in 2000 and was founded by Paul Allen, who was also the co-fonder of Microsoft. The Woodland Park Zoo’s location is Woodland Park, Seattle. It is a 92 acre zoo with 300 species of animals and over 1,000 animals. The zoo opened in 1899. Woodland Park Zoo is open to over 1 million visitors a year. The Pacific Science Center is a science museum in Seattle. It’s location is Seattle and Mercer Slough, Bellevue. The museum is a independent, non-profit museum. It is 7.1 acres of land.

  7. Holiday Christmas Christmas is the biggest holiday celebrated in Seattle. Throughout the Christmas season, lights and decorations cover the city. Christmas trees and tree ornaments are displayed all over the city.
  8. Sports The Seattle Seahawks is the National Football League team for Seattle. They currently have a record of 4-3 under head coach Pete Carol. The Seahawks stadium is CentryLink Field. The Seattle Mariner is the Major League Baseball team for Seattle. They are not a good team, their record this year was 67–95. They have not made the playoffs since 2001 and have never won a pennant.
