  1. 8th Graders

  2. All 8th graders will be required to take each of the following classes, either as Regular or Pre-AP: Language Arts Math Science Social Studies

  3. All 8th graders will choose two (2) electives and one (1) alternate from the following option:Family & Consumer ScienceBand (must also be taken in 7th grade)ChoirSpanishBusiness Tech (cannot choose, if taken in 7th grade)ArtIntroduction to EngineeringP.E.Athletics (must have a completed physical by June, 2013 to enroll)

  4. 8th graders are enrolled at Houston, Highland, or Heizer Middle Schools based on the information in the computer system at their elementary schools. We ask all parents/guardians to verify and/or update address information with their students’ elementary schools to insure that they receive their schedules.

  5. The students will be receiving a schedule by mail prior to the beginning of the 2013 school year in August.

  6. If a student does NOT live in the school district they wish to attend, an out-of-zone form must be filled out and completed online, beginning April 1, 2013. This form is available on the Hobbs Schools website http://www.hobbsschools.net/

  7. If a student receives a schedule from the wrong middle school, two (2) proofs of address must be provided to the office of the school from which the schedule was received.

  8. We are very excited about our upcoming 8thgraders, and we look forward to a successful year!
