The Australasian Language Technology Association (ALTA) promotes research and development in language technology across Australia and New Zealand. Key activities include the annual Australasian Language Technology Workshop (ALTW) and the ALTA Shared Task, which focuses on engaging students in natural language processing (NLP). With a modest yet growing number of participants each year, ALTA fosters collaboration and awareness through events like the Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO). This inclusive initiative enhances student involvement and showcases exemplary tasks in the field.
