Testing and Certification Services • TTA’s testing & certification services started in December 2001 • Objectives - Maximizing the practical use of Standard(s) - Securing Compatibility, Interconnectivity, Interoperability, • and the quality of the IT products, etc. • Major Activities • - To Provide IT Testing Services, • Certification Services and OpenLab

Testing and Certification Services • Internationally accredited testing Lab. • - ISO 17025 accreditation for bluetooth area • Testing & Certification Service Area • - Network Equipments (Ethernet, ATM, Router, WLAN, ADSL, VoIP, Bluetooth, Mobile Phone Charger, etc) • - Software (Component, Mobile, Embedded, Web-based S/W, etc) • - Digital Broadcasting Equipments (DVB-MHP, ATSC-DASE, Digital TV, etc) • - Mobile Communication (CDMA, PCS, GSM/GPRS, IMT-2000(3GPPs) • Open Lab Service • - To provide the testing environment for Network Equipment testing • (Ethernet, ATM, MPLS, IPv6, VoIP, ADSL, etc.) • - To lease the testing equipments and reference equipment

Certification Logos of TTA Certifying that the product has met the certification criteria prepared by the local/foreign standardization organizations Verifying that the product has met the requirements requested by the client Confirming that the product has been tested in accordance with the test spec. prepared by the TTA and the client Certifying that the product has met the requirements specified in the Quality Certification Standards of Software Verifying that the product has met the requirements set forth by the ‘Up-to-Spec’ standards of the Tolly Group Verifying that the product has met the requirements set forth by the ‘Tolly verified’ standards of the Tolly Group

External Relations regarding Testing & Certification • Partnership • - The Tolly Group (USA) (Network Area) • - VeriTest (USA) (S/W Area) • - Provides joint testing service and Issues Joint-Certification Logo • Co-operation with related Organizations • - CDG in the Cellular Phone sector • - WECA for wireless LAN testing (Wi-Fi certification) • - TUV Rheinland and CETECOM for BQTF Establishment • - CableLabs for Digital Cable TV

Open Lab • Facilities • - Testing equipments and Reference equipments (over 50s) • - IOP service area (100 m2) • - 7 Customer Islands • - Seminar Room • Services • - To help the manufacturers debug their new products • - To provide the testing tools and reference equipment • - To organize the Interoperability testing event (ION)

Interoperability Testing Event - ION • Interoperable Open Network Workshop & Exhibition • - Started in 1992 and held every year for 10 years • - Was the only IOP-specialized event in Korea • - Changed it’s style to practical IOP event like ETSI’s Plugtest this year • ION2002 • - Will be held in Open Lab from the first week of July, 2002 • - Subject: H.323 VoIP, SIP VoIP • - 15 manufacturers will participate • - Goal: IOP conform, debugging, and advertising the results

International Activities on IOP Testing • Goal • - To expand the scope of Interoperability world wide • - To promote the practical use of standards world wide • International Cooperation • - Cooperation with ETSI in Plugtest event • - Lead the ASTAP IOP WG activity • - Cooperation with CJK Standards Meeting Members

Discussion Issues • Cooperation in ION event • - Share information when deciding the ION topics • - CJK Standards Meeting member’s participation in ION event • Cooperation in Testing and Certification • - Information exchange in testing and certification activities • - To provide the testing and certification services each other • - Mutual Recognition Agreement
