This guide outlines six essential roles for students participating in literature circle discussions: Discussion Director, Summarizer, Word Watcher, Illuminator, Illustrator, and Connector. Each role includes specific responsibilities to ensure a structured and engaging discussion of the reading material. The Discussion Director leads by developing questions, while the Summarizer captures main ideas and events. The Word Watcher focuses on vocabulary, the Illuminator highlights memorable passages, the Illustrator creates visual representations, and the Connector makes real-world links.
