  10. Domain knowledge modules of Informatics for Engineers profile DK1. Computer Aided Measurement and Control: DESCRIPTION: The aim of the module is to provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of industrial control systems. Also principles and techniques of computer aided measurements and data acquisition are covered. Main topics include signals, A/D and D/A conversion, control systems modeling and stability, sensors, data acquisition and processing, control algorithms, and controlers. Tempus CD-JEP-16067 Meeting, Belgrade, SCG, Apr. 26-27, 2004

  11. Domain knowledge modules of Informatics for Engineers profile DK2. Modeling and Simulation: DESCRIPTION: This module introduces the methods applied for modeling and simulation of technical different systems, e.g. mechanical, electrical, fluid, thermal, and compound systems. Using various numerical methods, such as finite elements method, finite volumes method, etc., students learn to model and simulate behaviour and interactions within and between technical systems in order to improve reliability prior to real implementation. Tempus CD-JEP-16067 Meeting, Belgrade, SCG, Apr. 26-27, 2004

  12. Domain knowledge modules of Informatics for Engineers profile DK3.CAD/CAM Systems: DESCRIPTION: Module covers modeling and simulation techniques and skills required for products and processes representation. It provides students with practical 3D solid modeling techniques and skills for product design. Accordingly, modeling and simulation of manufacturing, i.e. machining processes is to provide more thorough insight into operations and their sequences, correspondent parameters, tool paths, and other characteristics which ensure accurate and high quality production of parts. Tempus CD-JEP-16067 Meeting, Belgrade, SCG, Apr. 26-27, 2004

  13. Conclusions: bad news • In this moment curriculum of Informatics for Engineers is under redesign in the sense of adjusting to Bologna Declaration requirements, i.e. single modules within 6 semesters • Final decisions are to be made by Tempus JEP CD-16156-2001 “Computer Science Curricula Founding and Upgrading” • Reasons of delay: mostly non-academic Tempus CD-JEP-16067 Meeting, Belgrade, SCG, Apr. 26-27, 2004

  14. Conclusions: good news • The results from Tempus JEP-CD-16067-2001 “Teaching Business Information Systems” are excepted and applied to the profile Informatics for Engineers • Within profiles Industrial Engineering and Production Engineering we have applied the results for the modules of Information Systems, Database Systems, Web Technologies, E-Commerce, Software Engineering, and Intelligent Systems • We use Prof. Lazarevic‘s book „Databases“ for teaching the module Database Systems Tempus CD-JEP-16067 Meeting, Belgrade, SCG, Apr. 26-27, 2004

  15. Conclusions: good news(continued) • Book “Software Solutions of CAD/CAD Systems” by Goran Devedzic is in the publishing stage and is to be used for teaching and aid for four modules within three profiles • Library information system significantly improved the related activities and quality of its services Tempus CD-JEP-16067 Meeting, Belgrade, SCG, Apr. 26-27, 2004
