  2. Language of the Discipline • I’m thinking of a 4 digit number with the digits in decreasing order from left to right. One digit is a square number and the others are prime. The sum of the ones and tens digit is 8. What is my number? • Do you know what the red words mean?

What strategy is required? • Digit-any one of the ten numerals • (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) • Decreasing-Descending order • (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) • Squared number-that number multiplied by itself • (42=4X4=16) • Prime-exactly 2 factors • (2=1, 2; 5=1, 5; 11=11, 1) • Sum-answer to an addition problem • (sum of 4+1=5)
