  2. Children don’t have the voice, they don’t vote, they don’t tithe, but they are too small to ignore, because they have our world in their hands. Wes Stafford-Too Small to Ignore

  3. 4-14 Window

  4. How are you influencing?

  5. It is not our job to merely control our children’s behavior, but instead we are called to create a spiritual life for him/her.

  6. What is your goal in raising each of the children God has entrusted to you? How will you create environments in your home that will reinforce that goal? Who does God require you to be as a parent?

  7. “Do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” Colossians 3.21

  8. Discipline is intended to deepen life. • Discipline is setting limits • Discipline is redirecting emotions in a positive direction. • Discipline protects • Discipline provides a safe way to explore life.

  9. Community

  10. Children will align their behavior according to your expectations for a season. However, that season will come to an end one day if they have not internalized Biblical values for themselves – that is, these values have been made real for them and not for the sake of their parents.

  11. Serving

  12. Your child has much better chance of retaining their faith upon graduation from Secondary School if they have a history of involvement in the local church. Mark DeVries, Family Based Youth Ministry

  13. responsibility

  14. Responsibility confronts self-centeredness. Somewhere along the road of life our children will fail. But this does not define them. Their failures are something they did, not something they are.

  15. Being a role model

  16. Affirmation

  17. “There is more to you than you know.”

  18. Being a role model

  19. You can’t give away what you don’t have. You can’t model what you haven’t experienced for yourself.

  20. Every day you make a deposit into your legacy with God. This spiritual inheritance you leave for others is the bit of you that counts for eternity.
