Also students can record the newsletter which will be fun for them and also cool for their parents to hear their children’s voices. Historical Audio Diaries: Have students who are studying a period in history write and record journals from the perspective of a person living in that time. How To: Have students record how to accomplish specific tasks. For example steps for completing algebra problems or key elements of an essay. Debates: Students debate regarding a specific topic that is later recorded for other students to add their comments and opinions regarding the debate. Book Talk: Students will be recorded delivering their book talks. Each one will be an episode in the book talk podcast series from your class. Prepare Substitute Teachers: Teachers can prepare ahead of time and leave instructions for their substitute teacher. They can leave suggestions about subject matters that should be covered as well as demonstrate how a typical class period runs. Test Study Guides: These recorded study guides are placed on the class website. This will allow students the ability to access the study guides 24 hours a day; from anywhere they have internet access. Problem Solving Activities: A weekly or monthly puzzler or brain teaser as an audio podcast. Students have to listen carefully to the words and vocabulary used to figure it out. Virtual Field Trips: Helpful for supporting lectures, class work, and providing students with research resources. These are especially helpful during periods of tight budgets and student field trips are not possible. School Announcements: When you incorporate podcasts into your announcements, students can be kept informed with what is going on around them. Lectures: Teachers can wear wireless microphone during lectures. This strategy is ideal for students who miss a class due to sickness, school field trip, and other reasons.
