  1. Adaptation Artistry • Choose from the four environments listed below. • Downtown Denver • Arapahoe High School • Keystone Ski Resort • A Resort In Hawaii • Determine the habitat. You will write these in the bottom left corner of your paper and label them as habitat. • What your bird will eat • Its sex • Its type of mobility • Design your bird with the appropriate adaptations for the particular environment that you picked. (BE CREATIVE AND ORIGINAL) You must have at least SIX adaptations. Explain these adaptations in the bottom right corner of your paper and label them as adaptations. • Draw your bird on a piece of paper showing its adaptations. Then draw the habitat your bird lives in. • Assign your bird a scientific name (make up a genus and species name) and list above drawing. Ex: Homo sapien Below the scientific name, write the environment. Ex: Keystone, Nebraska, etc. 6. Answer the questions found on the next slide on the back of your paper.

  2. Questions (answer on the back of your drawing) • Pretend your bird was placed in one of the three other environments. (Pick One) List any adaptations that would limit the success of your bird in its new environment. • List any adaptations that will enhance the success of your bird in its new environment. • How would Lamarck describe how your bird has evolved? • How would Darwin describe how your bird has evolved? • How would YOU describe how your bird has evolved?
