  4. Head of gold - Babylon Daniel 2:37-38 You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; 38 and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all—you are this head of gold.

  7. The legs of iron and feet partly of iron and partly of clay – Roman Empire • Rome is not named, but we know from history that Rome followed Greece. • Rome began as a republic, but became a kingdom in 31 BC (Octavian, aka Augustus Caesar)

  8. Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.” • Acts 11:28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. • Acts 25:10-12

The Kingdom was at hand in the 1st century. • According to John the Baptist • Matthew 3:2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” • According to Jesus • Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” • Mark 1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” • Luke 10:9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ • Mark 9:1 • And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.”

  11. The kingdom of God present with power The apostles were to receive power after the Holy Spirit came upon them. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 2:1-4, The fulfillment of the promise

  12. The Kingdom Has Been Established Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, Revelation 1:9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ

The Kingdom Is The Church Matthew 16:16-19 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” cf. Hebrews 12:18-24, 12:28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, (ESV)

  14. The Kingdom Is The Church Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, Acts 2:47 …And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
