  2. Floating Support • Since 1999 • Currently provide six services • Objectives - Prevent tenancy breakdown - Reduce harm/access treatment - Develop life-skills - Meaningful activity

  3. Approaches • Support planning, risk assessments, key working, reviews, etc • Home visits • Personalisation • Promoting hope, belief, confidence, etc • Work in partnership

  4. Associated needs • Associated Needs - Drug misuse - Offending - Mental health • Other Providers - Generic floating support schemes - Linked to treatment - Involve private landlords

  5. Challenges • Engaging service users • Addressing immediate issues – rent arrears, behaviour, safety • Reducing harm – alcohol, lifestyle • Linking into services • Sustainable change

  6. The Future • Emphasis on meeting complex needs with support/care packages • Limited support – level and duration • Personalisation – choice, personal budgets • Range of accommodation
