Engaging ASL Activities: Shape Creation and Descriptive Commands

This lesson focuses on enhancing ASL skills through interactive activities. Students will practice signing what they are wearing while using facial expressions and body language. They will also learn about different types of shapes, including linear, symmetrical, and asymmetrical forms, using both hands. The “Fly Swatter” game encourages peer interaction, where students must recall and sign learned concepts without repeating. By combining shapes and giving commands, students deepen their understanding of ASL structure and improve their communication skills.
