  1. Electronic Mail (E-mail) -is a method of exchanging digitals messages from an author to one or more recipients across the internet or other computer network.

  3. Web-based E-mail • Most familiar type of email • Common web-based email servers are hotmail, gmail, yahoomail and AOL. • Users log into the email account using a browser to send and receive their email.

  4. POP3 E-mail services • Post Office Protocol 3 • Messages are downloaded to a computer using an email client softwares like Thunderbird and Microsoft Office Outlook and then they are deleted from the email server.

  5. IMAP E-mail services • Internet Message Access Protocol • With an IMAP account, you can access the mail folders on the mail server and you can use any computer to read messages wherever you are.
