PROJECT OVERVIEW • CSC e-Governance Services Limited submitted a proposal, ‘Innovative Project for Empowering Rural Women’ to the National Resource Centre for Women, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India • Objective of the project is to provide rural women training and certification to become digitally literate, enabling her to acquire the basic ICT skills that empower her to: • Actively participate in knowledge based activities • Enhance her education • Gain employment • Secure her livelihood • Manage her and her family’s health • Access financial, social and government services • Become socially and politically active

PROJECT OVERVIEW • The total beneficiaries of the programme will be 25,000 rural women and adolescent girls in the following States: • Chhattisgarh: Rajnandgaon • Maharashtra: Nashik • Punjab: Patiala, Gurdaspur, Jalandar, Hoshirpur • Tripura: West Tripura, Dhalai • Uttar Pradesh: Banda, Mirza, Maharajgang, Sonbhadra • Rajasthan: Jodhpur, Barmer, Ganganagar • Beneficiary Selection Criteria • Women and adolescent girls with higher qualification • Train adolescent girls benefited under the SABLA programme of NRCW • Preference will be given to first time learners

PROJECT OVERVIEW • NIELIT’s BCC Syllabus/ Curriculum Available here: http://elearn.doeacc.edu.in/introduction.php • Basic Computer Course (BCC) syllabus of NIELIT can be followed with the following broad modules: • Knowing computer • Operating computer using GUI based operating system • Understanding word processing • Using spread sheet • Communication using the Internet • WWW and web browsers • Communications and collaboration • Making small presentation

Finalise the content for BCC by 23rd November Beneficiaries will appear the NIELIT’s examination NIELIT will certify the successful candidates Identification of CSCs to become training centres by 30th November Training of Master Trainers on BCC Curriculum Delivery by 14th December Implementation of BCC Curriculum at selected 2000 – 2500 CSCs in 6 States Training of VLEs on the Women Enrolment, Attendance, Course Delivery, Continuous Assessment, etc. Enlisting of women through mass awareness campaigns Intensive training for 45 days 5 women per batch of 1 hour and 2 batches per day • SCAs to nominate master trainers. • Master trainers to train VLEs in mobilisation, enrolment, attendance, delivery, assessment, etc. Organised by CSC SPV SCAs to assist VLEs in organising campaigns Certification of women trainee VLE to submit the beneficiaries examination form at NIELIT SCAs to submit Learning and Assessment report on a weekly basis CSC SPV to host BCC content on the eLearning platform SCAs to choose CSCs in selected districts Each CSC will train 10 – 15 women over a period of 3 months Master trainers to conduct district level training for VLEs • IMPLEMENTATION APPROACH

IMPLEMENTATION APPROACH • Deliverables • Supply the list of CSCs in selected districts by 30th November, 2012 • Supply the list of selected women beneficiaries by 31st December, 2012 • Train the selected beneficiaries on basic computer course modules • Supply the list of beneficiaries undergone the training • Supply the list of beneficiaries appeared for the NIELIT’s BCC Examination • Revenue support envisaged: • VLE: Rs. 600/ beneficiary • SCA: Rs. 150/ beneficiary • NIELIT: Rs. 200/ beneficiary • Payment structure • On receipt of beneficiaries undergone training for minimum number of hours: 50% • On receipt of beneficiaries appeared for the examination: 50%
