CHANGES • Residency Affidavits: updated yearly between August 1st and before the first day of school • Pre-arranged Absences: must be approved by principal at least three school days prior to the absence • Absences: Whether supported or not by a note, the absences will be counted towards the maximum number of allowable absences in a semester.

  3. CHANGES • Tardies: being late to school (8:15) and being picked up early (before 3:15) • Field Trips: Parents shouldnot bring siblings on the school field trips.

  4. DRESS CODE • No tank tops – top of a sleeveless shirt must be the width of a dollar bill • Sleeveless shirts and tank tops may not be combined to equal the width of a dollar bill – top of the main shirt must be at the width of a dollar bill • No racer-back shirts without an undershirt • No halter tops

  5. DRESS CODE No spaghetti straps without an undershirt No “armhole cutout” shirt Shorts, skirts, and dresses may not be any shorter than the vertical length of a dollar bill from the top of the knee to the hem of the garment all the way around the garment. No “soffe” shorts No bandanas of any color

  6. DRESS CODE Hats or caps are to be removed when you enter any building and remain off while you are in the building. Open holes in jeans must not be above the acceptable length for shorts (within the length of a dollar bill above the knees).

  7. ADDITIONS Head Lice: Bethel has a no-nit policy. Students found to have head lice/nits will be sent home immediately. To reenter school, the student must provide certification that he/she is no longer afflicted with head lice or nits. Conjunctivitis: The student suspected to have conjunctivitis will be excluded from school until medial care has been received or until symptoms have resolved (the eyes are not weeping).

  8. ADDITIONS Colored Hair Gels/Sprays: Students are not allowed to attend school with temporary, colored hair gels/sprays. The principal may allow exceptions to this rule.

  9. THINGS TO REMEMBER Residence: Should the status of a student’s residence change, the principal should be notified immediately. Absences: Students are limited to a maximum of seven absences in a semester. Zeroes will be recorded for each day over seven.

  10. THINGS TO REMEMBER Doctor’s Notes: All notes must be turned in or completed within one day after student returns to school. Arriving Late: Late entry in the classroom (after 8:15) interrupts classroom procedures and instruction. PreK: If a student accumulates more than seven unexcused absences per semester, a committee will determine whether the student may continue enrollment.

  11. THINGS TO REMEMBER Visitors: All visitors should report to the office to receive a pass upon arrival. Cafeteria Charges: Students are limited to ten charges. At that point, the student will be provided a sandwich with milk until the charges are paid in full. Transportation Changes: Notify the office before 2:50. Changes received after this time may not be given.

  12. THINGS TO REMEMBER Cell Phones: Use of cell phones during the school day is prohibited; and they must be off, concealed, and secured in book bags. Snacks: Do not send any foods of minimal nutritional value (FMNV) to school for snacks. They will be sent back home.

  13. THINGS TO REMEMBER Parties: No icing or colored drinks will be allowed in the buildings. This includes class parties and birthday celebrations. Birthdays: Students are allowed to bring individual, store-bought treats; individual drinks; and a package of napkins. Please do not send goodie bags. Balloons may not be sent home on the school bus. Birthday celebrations may not start earlier than 2:30.
