  2. Frida Kahlo was born in this house in the Coyoacán neighborhood of Mexico City. “La Casa Azul” is now a museum featuring her life and artwork.

  3. During her youth, Frida suffered a horrible accident while riding a streetcar. During her life she had more than 32 surgeries to fix her injuries.

  4. Her physical problems and emotional pain were common themes in her paintings.

  5. The majority of her paintings were self-portraits and featured her prominent brow.
