  2. Military Child Iam a military child. My father has served overseas and fought for our freedom -at the cost of his own. While we are here in the United States getting an education, he is making this world safer for all generations. It's so exciting when he comes home because we missed him so much. His last deployment was a difficult one. Not just for him, but for everyone.

  3. My Dad and Grandpa My dad’s been to Iraq once and Afghanistan twice in the 13 years he's been in the Army. My dad is a tank mechanic and also currently a Team Chief. When he's with his family, he can do the most craziest things. My grandfather, Harry LeRoy Ryan Jr., also served in the military. He was a dentist’s assistant in the Army.

  4. Deployment #3 After getting back from Germany, my dad got orders to go back to Afghanistan with his chief, Murray and his company. It never gets any easier watching him pack up to leave to a place that could possibly be his last. It was a few months after being in Afghanistan when a tragic event plagued everyone...... They were on patrol when a roadside bomb went off, claiming the life of Murray. My dad came home with a black metal bracelet around his wrist and tears in his eyes. There was a time I saw that he regretted not being able to save Murray's life. Sergeant 1st Class Dennis Murray: K.I.A on 21 September, 2011 by insurgent bomb detonated in Kandahar province R.I.P

  5. I Believe Everyone has the right to express how they feel without other people judging them based on looks, instead of actions. The one thing that irritates me is that I couldn't go anywhere with my dad in Germany without somebody snickering or pointing at some of the scratches on his arms and legs. He served your country and gave you the freedom you have today! Don't you understand that he could have easily not done it? Where would we –the Americans- be at then? You wouldn't even be able to go to school if the military, my dad, didn't try to save what little freedom we may have here in America any more. Personally, I believe that looks shouldn't matter and that actions speak louder. This is what I will continue to believe until the day I die.
