GRADE 11 – CAPS • Recap the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the forms of ownership • The benefits and challenges of establishing a company versus other forms of ownership i.e. sole trader, partnership, Close Corporation, • co-operatives, (including taxation issues) • Formation of companies • - The company’s charter: Memorandum of • Incorporation [MoI] • - Name of the company : Incorporation and • commencement of the company • - Prospectus

GRADE 11 – CAPS Formation of a Company Activity • Divide in groups of 6 -8 participants • Issue each group with newsprint & koki’s • Each group chooses a scribe and spokesperson • Different groups must summarise each heading in point form and as a mind map • Group spokesperson report back to plenary
