This study examines the presence of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the hepatopancreas of crabs, with composite samples taken from groups of 20 crabs. We assess whether PCB contamination exceeds the FDA action levels and the EPA recreational limits, thereby impacting seafood safety. The research area is closed to commercial fishing, highlighting concerns over local aquatic food sources. Findings aim to inform regulatory decisions and public health advisories regarding the consumption of crabs from this region.
