  2. History Lesson This is the History Lesson section of your Chicago Tour. You will be learning about the Saint Valentines Day Massacre, John Dillinger and the Biograph Theatre. You need to click on every slide. There will be an introduction to each slide. You will first need to answer a series of questions, it will direct to certain websites that you need to attend in order to answer the questions correctly. You will then be asked to complete a writing assignment. Don’t forget that you need to complete four sections of this history lesson. It’s important to follow all of the rules and directions. Have fun!

The events that had led up to this massacre began on the morning of February 14, Valentine’s Day. Now that I have given you a little excerpt on the Massacre, its now your job to answer the questions I have below. Please use a separate sheet of paper. Use the same numbers for each question, if your answering question #1, then right #1 on your paper. You can explain the events that led up to the massacre, you could describe the gang members along with their rivals, or/and you could describe how the actual event took place. It’s important to only use the websites I have listed below, there is an abundance amount of information on this subject and some of the sources are not relevant, only use the websites I have provided. Please make sure you cite your sources correctly. Use the MLA format, if you are confused about how to use MLA, click on the website I have listed below. Remember, this is only a summery, therefore you should not be including your own opinion in your paper. Always check for spelling errors and punctuation.

To receive more information about him, look directly under his picture and click the “read more” button. John Herbert Dillinger was a notorious and vicious thief. From September, 1933, until July, 1934, he and his violent gang terrorized the Midwest. Now that I have given you a little excerpt on John Dillinger, its now your job to answer the questions I have below. Please use a separate sheet of paper. Use the same numbers for each question, if your answering question #2, then right #2 on your paper. Use complete sentences and read over the different websites I have listed below. • John Dillinger stages __ jail breaks? • Dillingers first attempt of crime came about when he robbed _______? • On one of the websites, there is a wanted poster of John Dillinger. Please tell me what the amount of the rewards were and what each reward meant. • How did John Dillinger die? Where was he officially buried?

John Dillinger led a very outrageous life and your second assignment will be to pick one of his life events that interest you most. Some topics you could talk about would be his bank sprees, his multiple jail breaks, or the Biograph theater and how that pertains to him. There is an assortment of information on Dillinger so please try to keep your papers to a maximum of two pages and a minimum of one page. Your paper needs to include (but not limited to) at least one specific citations from the two different websites listed on the previous slide. It’s important to only use the websites I have listed below, there is an abundance amount of information on this subject and some of the sources are not relevant, only use the websites I have provided. Again, please make sure you cite your sources Correctly (remember how to use MLA format). Always check for spelling errors and punctuation.

  9. Assignment Conclusion Once your finished with the History assignment, remember to put all of your answers on a separate sheet of paper and bring it to class when the assignment is due. There is no extra credit options for this assignment. Remember to check your spelling and punctuation and remember to write in complete sentences. Don’t forget to do your next lesson, there are three lessons and all of them need to be completed.
