Over the past few decades, school counseling has transformed from a simple guidance role into a pivotal support system for students. Initially, counselors focused on occupational choices and academic support, but today they hold master’s degrees and adhere to state and national standards. Modern counselors engage in individual and group counseling, teach classroom guidance, and enhance social-emotional learning. Programs such as Career Cruising and initiatives in bullying prevention illustrate the comprehensive approach to fostering a positive school climate and preparing students for future challenges.
