Playing an MP3 Music File in Conjunction With a PowerPoint 2010 Presentation Victoria Ricciardiello December 2012
Click on the slide on which you want the MP3 to start playing • From the Insert tab on the Ribbon, click on the Audio icon down arrow • Select the option for Audio from File • Select your audio MP3 file from your storage medium Victoria Ricciardiello
Once the MP3 file is selected and inserted, an icon that represents the MP3 file displays on your slide Reminder this is the slide where you want your music to start playing Victoria Ricciardiello
The MP3 Icon is now displayed on the slide where you want to music to start playing • Click on the Playback tab on the Ribbon • Select the options to Loop until Stopped • Select the option to Start Automatically Victoria Ricciardiello
For this example, assume that you want the music to start on slide 5 and so that is the slide where you inserted the music • You also want the music to play through 4 slides. • Therefore the music will play through slides 5, 6, 7, and 8 and then it will stop • In order to set this criteria, you need to display the Animation tab and then select the Animation Pane • Your music will display in the Animation Pane • Follow the instructions on the next slide to finish setting the music Victoria Ricciardiello
Click the down arrow next to the music in the Animation Pane • Select Effect Options • The Play Audio dialog box will display • On the Effect tab, under the option to Stop playing select After and then enter 4 • This is because you want the music to stop playing after four slides Victoria Ricciardiello
