  1. 9-9 Learning Target • I can analyze a television show from the 1950s. • Essential Question: How has television media evolved over time?

  2. Vocabulary • Television—a communication device that works by sending and receiving images and sounds • The Dick Van Dyke Show—show in the 1950s about a TV writer and his life, both work and family. Starred young comedic actor Dick Van Dyke

  3. The Dick Van Dyke Show • As we watch the episode, answer the Television Analysis Questions. • Pay attention to the show—I expect you to be attentive and focused on your assignment.

  4. Work Period • Finish all of the Television Analysis Questions, including #10. Use a separate sheet of paper for this last question. • Use complete sentences and write at least half a page for #10.

  5. Work Period • After you finish all 10 questions, think of a TV show today that is about the same kind of plot—a family. How does it compare to the show you just watched? How is it similar and how is it different? • Use complete sentences!
