  2. What they look like • Pandas are black and white. They weigh up to 200 pounds or more. They can be 5 feet tall. The eyes have patchy black spots and their face is like a teddy bear`s.

  3. Lifespan • Pandas live for about 20 years. They are very endangered so there are not a lot of pandas in China. There are about 1000.

  4. Habitat • Pandas live in dens. Most dens are in trees. The dens are big because pandas have strong muscles and can break things like wood easily.

  5. Landforms • Pandas live in bamboo forests so there are a lot of plants and bamboo. It is also very moist in the forests.

  6. Food • Pandas eat lots of bamboo. They can even eat about 10,000 pounds of bamboo a year! They can also eat meat if they get it and they seem to be very fond of honey. Pandas eat other plants too, they even sometimes eat flowers!

  7. Behavior • Pandas are mostly acting cuddly but can kill or injure somebody very badly when they are being bothered or when they’re protecting their children.

  8. Physical Adaptation • Pandas have water-proof fur that keep them warm in the winter. They also have large cheek muscles to help them eat thick bamboo stalks that we would have a hard time chopping with an axe. Pandas have a “thumb” that is really a wrist bone. It helps the pandas hold things like bamboo. Without it, pandas would have trouble holding things.

  9. Interesting facts • 1.Pandas have two different skin colors. Under the dark fur the skin is black, under the white fur it’s pink. • 2.Panda’s teeth are 7 times bigger than human teeth. • 3. Giant panda adults are 900 times bigger than their newborn cubs. • 4. Panda’s fur is water-proof.

  10. Cubs • Panda cubs are about 5 ounces when they are newborns. When they are older, they can start running and climbing trees. A lot of people love them because they look cuddly when they are cubs.
