Multi-Modality Learning • Supplement your study through sensory diversity • Visual • Tactile • Auditory • With each additional modality employed during learning, you are synthesizing information, and increasing your chances of accurate recall of information for an exam • The more modalities, the ‘richer’ the memory

  3. Strategies for Sensory Diversity • Tactile/Kinesthetic • Writing notes • Drawing diagrams • Highlighting material • Tips • Study in short blocks • Take active lab classes • Role play • Study with others • Use flash cards to help with memorization

Strategies for Sensory Diversity • Visual • Review power points • Read notes • Review diagrams • Audio-visual materials • Participate in lab actively • Tips • Sit in the front of the class to avoid visual distraction • Take detailed notes during lecture • Create flash cards • Create your own practice questions

Strategies for Sensory Diversity • Auditory • Listening to audio-visual materials • Group study • Partner quizzing • Tips • Read aloud • Record lectures /classes • Use word association to remember facts and lines • Watch videos • Repeat facts with eyes closed • Record your notes after writing them
