  1. Overview Presentation MKT-CODE-P-001E

  2. Introduction • Single Channel Codec designed to increase the flexibility of NetVu Connected analogue/IP CCTV networks • Allows new or existing analogue cameras and / or monitors to be deployed onto an IP CCTV network • Images streamed from the Codec can be recorded on any associated NetVu Connected DVR or Video Server • Enables the organic growth of a CCTV installation and migration to an IP network without the need to replace existing network components such as cameras • AnalyticsCapable, through a software upgrade and purchase of a license the DV-IP Codec is able to run analytics solutions such as ANPR, Object Left and Perimeter Protection • Remote configuration of the unit via the associated DVR removes the need for multiple site revisits

  3. Features • Simultaneous JPEG & MPEG-4 video streams • Streaming rate of Up to 25PPS (PAL), 30PPS (NTSC) to NetVu Connected DVR • QCIF, CIF, 2CIF, 4CIF Resolution • The DV-IP Codec is able to offer 4CIF resolution at 25PPS (PAL) • 3x alarm inputs* • Colour Composite monitor output (full and quad screen modes) • VGA monitor output* • 1x Audio In/Out to enable Bi-directional communication* • AnalyticsCapable • Serial Telemetry support for PTZ cameras • Embedded web pages for remote configuration • Fully compatible with NetVu ObserVer • MultiMode Recording profile support* • SDK available for project customization * Available in future releases

  4. MultiMode Recording* • The DV-IP Codec contains two MultiMode Recording profiles allowing the associated DVR to configure the unit for maximum efficiency when viewing and recording images • MultiMode Recording offers; • A choice of record rate (pps or bit rate), compression algorithm (MPEG4 and JPEG), and resolution (QCIF up to D1 full frame resolution) per camera • Dynamically-Switchable MPEG-4/JPEG compression, triggered by event or VMD • These options increase flexibility to all recording scenarios and can: • Extend record duration (for a given disk size) • Increase recorded picture quality and record rates • Remove the need for low update background recording or event only recording * Available in future releases

  5. AnalyticsCapable • Analytics Capable products can be upgraded to run a range of D-Tec video analytics solutions including; Object Left, Object Counting, Object Removed, ANPR and Perimeter Protection • Developed within the AD Group development team, our analytics technology seamlessly integrates with a range of our world leading NetVu Connected DVR’s – including the DV-IP Codec, DV-IP RT, SD Range - look out for the “AnalyticsCapable” logo on compatible products • Seamless control and viewing from a single platform - NetVu ObserVer • Enables existing cameras to become part of an analytics solution, allowing the customer to integrate analytics into their current CCTV system, deploying it where most needed • The DV-IP Codec is supplied ready to support our Analytics offerings all that is required is a software upgrade and license purchase for the relevant solution.

  6. Benefits • Allows the installation to organically grow as the user requires it to • Versatile user configuration as a real-time encoder or decoder allows the user to deploy as the application requires • Removes the cost and trouble of completely replacing and redesigning the installation. • Simultaneous MPEG-4 and MJPEG streaming in encoder mode • Deep integration with NetVu connected products allows unparalleled levels of interoperability • Allows deployment of analytics solutions, using existing cameras already installed • Utilises existing IP Networks • Allows Rapid deployment of cameras • Takes advantage of existing cabling saving time and money • Upgradeable software enabling functionality to be added • Compliant to the British Standard for Detector Activated Remotely Monitored CCTV Systems (BS8418)

  7. Applications • Ideal for connecting analogue cameras to an IP network or deploying composite monitors to display IP sources • Useful in scenarios where distanced remote viewing and control of static and PTZ cameras is necessary • Suitable for applications where remote configuration of the camera is required • Can be used as a remote viewing point on a Composite Monitor • Streaming live camera footage • Taking footage from a DVR across an IP network and displaying on a monitor • Can be deployed as either a Encoder / Decoder in multi-site situations such as: • Hospitals • Manufacturing plants • Government complexes • Able to provide an audio help-point or audio challenge / tannoy solution for the operator • Enables organic adoption of analytics technology into an existing installation

  8. Analogue Camera Analogue Camera Coax Power Power Coax BNC IP Network (Running Analytics) Audio In BNC (in Encoder Mode) Ethernet (Audio, Video, Alarm) Ethernet Audio Out (with Pre-Amp) Power Alarm (x3)* Speaker* Ethernet Ethernet (in Decoder Mode) BNC Coax Ethernet (Audio, Video, Alarm) :::::::: (in Encoder Mode) Coax RS485 Serial Telemetry Data Power Legacy CCTV Network Analogue PTZ Camera Composite Monitor (inc. Recording & Audio speak* / listen) * Available in future releases (inc. Audio speak* / listen) Applications (Power Supplied by Codec) (Power Supplied by Codec) Microphone (with Pre-amp) An analogue camera can be enabled to run an analytics solution through the DV-IP Codec Audio In/Out* can provide bi-directional communication to act as a help point or tannoy. With an associated IP address the DV-IP Encoder can be viewed by any permitted NetVu ObserVer client A single static or PTZ analogue camera can be connected to the DV-IP Codec (in encoder mode) for viewing over an IP Network A NetVu connected DVR can view and configure the DV-IP Encoder over an IP network whilst still viewing traditional analogue cameras. The encoder will be treated as one of the available cameras to the user and its IP Stream recorded. Composite monitor can use a DV-IP Codec to view any images from the network.

  9. NetVu ObserVer • DV-IP Codec is fully compatible with NetVu ObserVer (in Encoder mode) • Full, picture in picture, quad, 6, 9, 16, 25 and 36 way viewing screens allows the user to flexibly display live or recorded images • Drag and drop control of cameras onto the screen for live or replay viewing • User interface provides control of all live and recorded functions including audio, telemetry, alarm receiving and event search • MultiMode Viewing support - automatic switching between MPEG and JPEG recorded images on event or alarm. • Map Editor function allows creation & tailoring of maps to suit the customers application • V1.5x and above contains RVRC functionality for alarm receiving centres • Save and print images • Audio challenge and eavesdrop

  10. Summary • Allows new or existing analogue cameras and composite monitors to be deployed onto an IP CCTV network • With the DV-IP Codec the installation can organically grow as the user requires it to • By utilising existing IP Networks the unit removes the need for additional cabling, saving time and money • Removes the cost and trouble of completely replacing and redesigning the installation allowing the benefits of IP networking to be added to an analogue system • Enables an analytics solution to be deployed into a CCTV installation, utilizing existing analogue cameras • Useful in scenarios where distanced remote viewing, control and configuration of static and PTZ cameras is necessary
