  2. Why Awards or Recognition? • They deserve it for their effort • They will continue their effort • Marks them as future Leaders • Others receive stimulus into helping • Achievement becomes a goal • Strengthens your position as a Leader • It marks you as an important person

How do you do it? - 1 • Take a look at available awards • Announce their existence to your Section • Appoint your Awd’s and Rec’s Comm. • Advise that you will make use of them • Announce all open positions for volunteers • Ask for volunteers to fill positions; proceed to election if more than one • Celebrate your new board!

How do you do it?-2 • Take a look at available Awards and Rec’s • Match them to deserving volunteers • Download forms from www.ieee.org • Submit your nominations to your Comm. • Ask them to consider other candidates too • Follow up constantly watching for deadlines • Organize an elegant ceremony

  5. Publish • Your Newsletter • Local press, radio and TV • Include short biographical summaries of awardees • Honoring others always honors you as well • Honoring others makes you important to them!
