  2. What is arrivals? The definition of arrivals is the place at an airport where people arrive when they get off a plane. Opposite word: departure Related word: arrival lobby

  3. Word Focus : Airport • Airline terminal: the building where people wait to get onto planes. China Airlines, EVA AIR are the famous airline terminal in Taiwan.(航空公司) • Airline representative: a person who helps you handle everything before you get on the plane.(地勤) • Gate: the place where you leave an airport building to get on a plane.(登機門) • Boarding area: somewhere that passengers wait for getting on the gate.(登機區) • Custom: the place where your bags are checked for illegal goods when you go into a country.(海關)

  4. Overhead compartment: the place that someone can put their personal things. (上方行李艙) • Cockpit: the area in a plane where the pilot sits (駕駛艙) • Pilot: someone who operates the controls of an aircraft or spacecraft. (飛行員) • Flight attendant: someone whose job is to look after or help passengers in an airport. (空姐) • Baggage claim area: the place where passengers can carry their luggage. (行李領取處) • Carousel: the moving belt that you collect your bags from at an airport. (轉盤)

The driftage At the Airport and Airplane • The first: you need to buy your ticket then check your bags. • The second: you must go through security so that you can get your boarding pass then board the plane. • The third: you find your seat and stow your carry-on bag and fasten your seat belt. • Next: the flight attendant will say “ Welcome to 123 Airline. If you have any problem, we will try our best to help everyone. Wish have a wonderful trip.” • The last: fight attendant will demonstrate how to escape.

  6. After takeoff • The pilot will say “ Welcome to 123 Airline. Now we are above Taiwan airspace, after several hours, we will arrive at the destination. Wish everyone have a nice trip.” • The flight attendants start to deliver meal and serve the passengers who need help. • Then wait for plane to land on the destination. • ※ Stopover: a stop before reaching the destination, sometimes to change planes. (轉機) • ※Departure time: the time the plane takes off • ※Arrival time: the time the plane lands
