  6. WHAT IS FEEDBACK? • FEEDBACK IS THE COMMENTS AND OPINIONS OF THE PEOPLE WHO BUY FROM YOU. • FEEDBACK IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE, ON EBAY, IT IS YOUR REPUTATION. • UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS WILL LEAVE BAD FEEDBACK.

  7. Feedback Points • Feedback represents your permanent reputation as an eBay member. It’s made up of comments and ratings left by other eBay members you've bought from and sold to. These comments and ratings, along with your overall Feedback Score, are available in your Feedback Profile. • How Feedback works For each transaction, buyers and sellers can rate each other by leaving Feedback. Feedback consists of a rating (positive, negative, or neutral), and a short comment. These ratings are used to determine Feedback Scores. • A positive rating increases the Feedback Score by one point. • A neutral rating leaves the Feedback Score the same. • A negative rating decreases the Feedback Score by one point. • Each member may affect your score by only one point (positive or negative). However, they can leave you one Feedback rating and comment for each transaction they have with you.

  8. FEEDBACK • GOOD FEEDBACK TRANSLATES TO CUSTOMER TRUST. • GOOD FEEDBACK ASSURES BUYERS YOU ARE FAIR AND HONEST. • BUYERS FEEL BETTER DEALING WITH A SELLER WHO HAS GOOD FEEDBACK. • GOOD FEEDBACK = GOOD SELLING

  19. Factors that affect the Insertion Fee • Type of listing. Examples include the following: • Single Items- Insertion Fee is based on the starting price of the item or reserve price if one is included. • Multiple Item Listings (Auction-type and fixed price listings)-Insertion Fee is the starting or fixed item price multiplied by the quantity of items you offer. • eBay Motors, eBay Classified Ads, eBay Real Estate and eBay Stores have their own Insertion Fees • Optional listing features. Examples include the following: • Reserve Fees (refundable) • Buy It Now • Scheduled Listings • Format enhancements (Including Bold, Item Subtitle, Highlight)

  20. OTHER LISTING OPTIONS • RESERVE PRICE-THE LOWEST PRICE YOU WILL ACCEPT FOR YOUR ITEM. • BUY IT NOW-OFFERS THE BUYER THE OPTION TO PURCHASE IMMEDIATELY. • BIDDER APPROVAL-MUST EMAIL THE SELLER TO BE APPROVED TO BID ON ITEM.

  21. OTHER ITEMS TO INCLUDE • BE SURE TO INFORM THE BUYER HOW AND WHEN YOU WILL SHIP THE ITEM. • INCLUDE THE COST OF SHIPPING & HANDLING IN YOUR LISTING IF KNOWN. • TELL THE BUYER HOW YOU WILL ACCEPT PAYMENT (PAYPAL, MO, CASH, ETC.)

  22. Final Value Fees • You are charged a Final Value Fee (FVF) if your item is sold, ends with a winning bid, or is purchased. This fee applies whether or not you complete the sale with the buyer. • You will not be charged a Final Value Fee if: • There were no bids on your item. • There were no bids that met your reserve price in the case of a Reserve Price Auction. • Your posting is a Real Estate non-binding listing. • Your auction was in the Residential, Commercial or Other Real Estate Category. • Your item or service was listed using a Classified Ad Listing.

  23. Basic Fees

  24. Example of FVF • Example: You sold a single item for $153.00. Using the Final Value Fee table, your Final Value Fee is $6.67. This is calculated as follows: $2.19 (.0.0875 times $25.00) plus $4.48 (.0350 times $128.00) for a total of $6.67.

  25. ONCE YOUR ITEM SELLS • INVOICE THE BUYER (EBAY HAS AN AUTOMATIC INVOICING SYSTEM) • ONCE YOU RECEIVE PAYMENT, PACKAGE CAREFULLY AND SHIP PROMPTLY. • LEAVE APPROPRIATE FEEDBACK WHEN SALE IS COMPLETE. • Use My eBay http://www.ebayuniversity.com/gotraining/My_EBay_Audio_Tour • If a buyer doesn't pay for an item you sold, go to the Dispute Console and click on Report an Unpaid Item. Sellers can report an Unpaid Item up to 45 days after the transaction date. • If you have an Unpaid Item, you can send a Second Chance Offer to any one of your non-winning bidders to try to complete your sale. Second Chance Offers can be created immediately after a listing ends for up to 60 days.

  26. EBAY SHIPPING • After the listing ends, open the listing and look for the Print shipping label link. You can also go to the item in the Selling section of My eBay to do the same thing. • Once the item is shipped, mark it as “Shipped" in My eBay to keep track. That's automatically done if you print and pay for your shipping labels with PayPal. Here are more packing and shipping tips: Select a box slightly larger than the item. Properly label the item with return address. Pack with bubble wrap, foam or paper. Use wide packing tape, never masking tape.

  27. FINAL WORD OF WARNING • SELLING ON EBAY IS CONSIDERED A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS. • SELLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TAXES ON GOODS OR SERVICES SOLD. • SELLER IS LIABLE FOR ANY FRAUD CONNECTED WITH SELLING ON EBAY. • SELLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING ACCURATE RECORDS.
