Peasants Revolt of 1381 After the Black Death, there was a shortage of peasants to work the land of the nobles, this caused wages to rise. The monarch and nobles decided to create a law that would also force peasants to be paid wages the amount prior to the Black Death and still follow certain serf obligations. Lower wages along with high taxes to support the Hundred Year’s War, many peasants became upset and decided to rise up against the nobles and monarchs. The peasant’s Revolt and the Black Death were two significant factors in the demise of the feudal system. http://www.collaborativelearning.org/peasantsrevolt.pdf
