  1. Inspiration House of the future By Jamie,Taylor,Sam

  2. Description We are going to design a house that is on water, we choice this idea because 75% of the world is water a lot of it is wasted and can be a useful and environmentally friendly way to make energy. We want to create a house that is carbon neutral. Are ideas conclude of using the water as your water supply by purifying so it is safe and free, also a turbine that uses sea and wind power to create energy for the house, we chose a wheel that goes in the water because it is not always sunny and you can use tidal power or wind power to create energy efficiently. The house will also conclude of solar panels which face south so they get the most amount of sun. Also to save electricity overall the house will have a lot of glass to let in natural light so light bulbs are not needed as much and saves energy. The house will rely on renewable energy and will be carbon neutral. We would like to see more houses on water in the future because a lot of area is wasted due to water so it would be good if we could use that space for more things such as houses. Also if more people did live on water they may use boats which would cut down on carbon dioxide produced by a car.

  4. Solar Panels We would use solar panels on the south side of the water house because that is where the sun rises and falls so it would get the most sun. Solar panels would be a great way to reduce carbon dioxide because they will create energy for the house by using the sun and not burning chemicals and fuels which causes pollution. The panels would create electricity and heating for the house. Solar panels are also a great way of saving money because you won't have to pay for your electricity or heating. They would be more suitable on the house than normal electricity because they will all be connected at the house and easier to maintain.

  5. Wind Turbines/ Tidal Wind turbines are turbines that are spun by the wind and create energy. These would be useful on the house because the sun is not always out and when the sun is not out you can use solar panels. On the house we would combine wind turbine with a water wheel so it is more efficient and you can get more energy from it because you will be using tidal power from the water to spin the wheel also you will have the wind to power the wheel. This would be ideal because you could use your surroundings of water to make energy which would power your house. It is best to have two working energy sources so you do not just rely on one but two energy sources which would work both day and night. Wave power

  6. Water tank/ Purifier Because the house will be on water there will be no access to water pipes, so the house will use its surrounding water as its supply. It will be stored in a water tank under the house and will be purified by being heated up to kill bacteria and the filter to make the water clean and safe. This water will be used all around the house such as shower sink washing machine etc.

  7. Hydraulic support stilts Due to the house being on water the house will be fitted with hydraulic stilts which will be fitted to the surface below for support. The house would have hydraulic support so when the waves come crashing in the house will be able to stay still and not get damaged. Also if the tide rises the house can also be lifted up with it so the house does not sink. These would be essential off safety and support of the house. An example of where a system like this is used is when people build tree houses the have to put tabs into the tree and they attach this to the tree house so when the wind is blowing the trees the trees have space to move around while the house stays still also it gives the tree space to grow.

  8. Information Carbon Neutral-Is when a house or area does not use or waste carbon dioxide and is clean from using carbon dioxide and mainly relies on renewable energy. Renewable Energy-A sustainable energy source such as solar panels or wind turbines. We will use these to make out house sustainable and cheap to power.

  9. Interior inspiration

  10. Interior Sustainability The inside of the house shall be very modern with several smart storage units, this is to ensure the house is sustainable as seen on the mood board the hidden storage in the stairs and bath. This makes it better because it is a smart way to use wasted space. The stairs will all be hidden storage because on our house we have several stairs leading up to the main floor from the bottom deck. We would like to make the most amount of storage possible to keep the house lean and leave it with plenty of room without wasting space, for example the dining table can rise from the floor so the space is not wasted this would ensure the most amount of space in a smaller area. Space is a key part to our house we must ensure that there is no wasted space because that is a problem in today's living space is waiting and cluttered due to lack of storage.
