Anyone Suffering from Depression Should Know that Help is Always Available

As a qualified hypnotherapist and psychotherapist I am in the lucky position that I live my passion every day, which is to help people to understand themselves better and concentrate on lifeu2019s positive moments. My main areas of interest is to assist clients with those issues that can affect their lives negatively, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, lack of confidence, weight management, post-traumatic stress disorder and showing them how to quit smoking, for instance. I believe a positive state of mind is one of the important building blocks for a happy, fulfilled life. My sessions are calm and aimed at showing clients how to progress from an unhappy head space to reaching a point where they take control of their lives once more. I work from rooms in Cheltenham and Cirencester. For more information about my services, please visit https://cotswoldhypnotherapy.co.uk/

  1. Anyone Suffering from Depression Should Know that Help is Always Available Most people will go through life experiencing, at times, some form of mild unhappiness, but for some this unhappiness may be more severe and they may need depression treatment. It is one of those conditions – in fact disorders – that affect millions world-wide, and it is important to know that there is no stigma attached to depression as may have been the case many decades ago: today there is help for those that suffer from depression. There are many reasons why people may feel depressed: they may be lonely; they may be struggling with problems that seem insurmountable; they may feel that there is no reason to get up in the morning. In all these – and other – cases help is always available. Many people know when they suffer from depression and will therefore seek depression treatment, normally from their doctor who will then either prescribe medicine or suggest the services of a

  2. therapist, or a combination of both. Some, however, just know they feel extremely unhappy, often for a few days or weeks on end, and they may not be aware that this is indeed depression. These people would do well when they talk to their doctor who will then advise the appropriate treatment, such as therapy. Signs to look out for if you suspect you may be suffering from depression would include the following (of course there are many others too): feeling “low’/unhappy and feeling sad all the time. Depression treatment may help in these cases as well as for those that feel as if life is not worth living any more, or those that suffer from low energy levels, those that struggle with sleep, those that do not want to get up in the morning, or those that withdraw from people and society. There are many symptoms that manifest themselves in people’s lives. The important thing is to recognise them for what they are and to seek help. Start with your doctor who will then advise the appropriate treatment which will most likely include the services of one or more therapists that offer depression treatment.Therapists are available in all big centres, sometimes in smaller towns too. There are also different kinds of therapies that could be utilized for great results in terms of which sufferers receive help. Some therapists offer cognitive behavioural therapy, others are well versed in the methods of hypnotherapy. The latter, for example, has become more and more popular in recent years and is starting to attract more and more patients. Hypnotherapists, for example, offer their therapy to those patients that believe in the healing qualities of therapy that uses a very mild form of hypnosis that will help to relax patients in order to benefit from talking therapy. Depression treatment, in addition to medicine where that kind of treatment applies, has brought great relief to millions world-wide over the years, and after therapy they carry on with their lives

  3. the same way they did before their depressed state made them, in many cases, listless, helpless and ineffective. This is true for all therapists with a proper education and the necessary experience whether they are so-called hypnotherapists or therapists with a different background. Because depression manifests itself differently in different individuals the therapist will decide what the best treatment would be, and therefore depression treatment will be offered to address the exact depression a person is suffering from, whether that is a mild form of depression, or severe. The important thing is to know that a patient has to feel comfortable with his/her therapist, and that they relate to the therapist’s methods. In essence, where therapy is suggested for depression, talking therapy is most often advised by doctors, and very often also hypnotherapy these days.
