  1. Word Processing Activity Cut, Copy, Paste, Font Size, Font Style & Undo

  2. WORD or WORDPAD • You have BOTH of these programs at HOME • They are both Word Processing Programs- • WORDPAD is a little bit easier to learn because it is MUCH smaller.

  3. Open WordPad or Word The WordPad or Word TOOLS Today, we are going to use CUT, COPY, and PASTE, and FONT SIZE

  4. COPY/ PASTE • Go to the Teachers folder on your desktop • Open folders (A Baker, 3rd and 4th) • Double-Click on Poems WordPad Activity • Choose ONE of the POEMS • Use the SELECTtool

  5. See the 3 Poems 1. Baa, baa, black sheepHave you any wool?Yes sir, yes sir,Three bags fullOne for my master,One for my dame,One for the little boy Who lives down the lane  2. London Bridge is falling down,Falling down, Falling down.London Bridge is falling down,My fair lady! 3. I'm a little teapot, short and stout Here is my handle, here is my spoutWhen I get all steamed up hear me shout. Just tip me over and pour me out. This is for Mrs. Kight

  6. Select Tool/ Highlight and Copy • Practice Highlighting- highlight 1 of the poems- You need to start at the beginning or the end of the poem. Once you have highlighted the poem, you can copy it. • Find the COPY tool • COPY one POEM

  7. Go to WordPad or Word and Paste Paste Tool

  8. Practice highlighting • Change Font Size • Change Font Face • Practice copy/paste • Practice cut/paste • Your BEST Friend…. Find it! undo

  9. DAY 2- Bold, Italic, and Underline • Go to the “Teachers” Folder/”3rd 4th”/”Word Processing b i and u” • You will see the poems • You will practice “selecting” and “highlighting” • You will then add bold, italic, and underline to the poems

  10. Bold, Italic, and Underline • BOLD (poem #1)- bold each word that begins with B • Italic (poem #2) Italic each word that begins with I • Underline poem #3) Underline each word that begins with U

  11. Color the Poems & ChangetheFont(if time allows) • Highlight and choose a differentcolor foreachpoem • Highlight and change the font

  12. Working With Pictures (PHOTOS) It gets a bit “tricky” We will use WORD today • Follow the steps • You need a story • You need “pictures” • We will use “The Little Red Hen” today!

  13. You must follow 3 steps Type the Story Click and Drag the Photo (from a saved place)- copy and paste works too! Double Click (in office 2010)/ and THIS will come up (Picture Tools)

  14. Double Click on the Picture • Choose WRAP TEXT • Choose SQUARE or TIGHT • NOW you can move and resize your DUCK

  15. PRACTICE NOW! Yippee ! • Go to TEACHERS / A Baker/3rd4th/ Little Red Hen • Click and drag the red hen or the bread in to your story • Double Click on the picture • Find Wrap Text • Choose either Square or Tight • Now you can move around your picture and resize it (remember you ALWAYS resize from the diagonal corners) • Now ADD the rest of the pictures to your story • Color and change the font if you have time
