RDA Working Group: Disseminating Data Building Blocks for Cross-disciplinary Innovation

This initiative aims to raise awareness and facilitate the adoption and integration of data building blocks technology within research communities. The proposed RDA Working Group will conduct a market study and dissemination effort, including surveys, identifying new user groups, exploring data complementarities, and developing integration strategies. The group will focus on expanding the use of data technologies among later-adopters and sharing success stories across communities to promote cross-disciplinary innovation.

(19) Disseminating Data Building BlocksMarcio Faerman (Ohio Supercomputer Center) • Technology Dissemination is Needed • In order to raise awareness, catalyze and translate data building blocks technology to the long‑tail research community we propose to start a RDA Working Group which will perform a market study and dissemination effort involving: • Survey providing a structured view of the supply of data building blocks technologies, • Identification of new user groups with higher potential to leverage data building block technologies into success stories, • Identification of new data complementarities across domains to advance new cross‑disciplinary data-driven cases • Develop strategies to expand and catalyze integration of data technologies among “later‑adopters” research communities, • Disseminate and cross-pollinate success stories across new communities. • This working group would be a transversal effort leveraging the results of other RDA groups and ongoing data building blocks development efforts to be applied and consolidated across new user communities.
