Reducing Maintenance Complexity in User-Centric Web-Based 3D Geodata Portrayal

This paper presents an innovative approach to reducing maintenance complexity in user-centric web-based 3D geodata portrayal. The authors, Simon Thum and Michel Krämer, suggest shifting knowledge closer to data sources, enabling clients to require less knowledge while achieving better user demands fulfillment. Scenarios and portrayal requirements are systematically defined to address anticipated problems. The proposed solution emphasizes scalable problem-solving, reduced preprocessing needs, and adaptability to heterogeneous data. The approach promotes a more manageable and efficient user experience without heavy client reliance.
