Greek and Roman Art • The ancient Greeks created sculptural works with a beauty that has never been surpassed. • The Romans, who came to dominate the Greeks, had great admiration for Greek sculptures. • The Romans transported thousands of their sculptures to Rome to decorate their villas and public places. • The Romans copied those Greek sculpture masterpieces and in a similar style the Romans also created great sculptures of their own.
