  6. THE GOAL: To Reduce our School’s energy consumption by 5% from February 1st, 2012 to March 9th, 2012 McLeod Elementary School and Pouce Coupe Elementary School have challenged each other to see which school can save the most energy Points are awarded each day for energy saved and are tallied at the end of each week. The School that earns the most points by March 9th, 2012 will WIN the energy contest and a tasty treat!

  7. The Points System: Classroom Lighting 3 Points – Every 30 minutes ALL lights are off 2 Points – Every 30 minutes 2/3 of lights are off 1 Point - Every 30 minutes 1/3 lights are off Appliances (School Wide) Students measured the Watts all appliances use. Then they planned which appliances to unplug or put into sleep mode to save the most energy. Turning down the furnace and other school wide electricity consumption activities are also awarded this way. For every 500 Watts saved 3 points are rewarded.
