  1. Listeria Monocytogenes Antigens Browse All Listeria Monocytogenes Antigens Listeria monocytogenes is a pathogenic bacterium that causes listeriosis infection. It belongs to the bacteria family Listeriaceae, genus Listeria. Listeria monocytogenes is a facultative anaerobic bacterium that can survive with or without the presence of oxygen. It is one of the most virulent foodborne pathogens that causes the disease listeriosis, with 20 to 30% of the infections in high risk groups may be mortal. Listeria monocytogenes causes thousands of infections and hundreds of death in USA and European area each year. Researches suggest that about 10% of the world's human population have been colonized by Listeria monocytogenes in the gastrointestinal tracts. In most cases, Listeria monocytogenes are pathogenic to humans as well as other host animals, but this bacterium has also be found in the intestinal tract of a small percentage of human populations without causing any apparent symptoms. Fig. 1 Listeria monocytogenes with flagella observed with a SEM Listeria monocytogenes is a Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, non spore-forming, motile, rod-shaped bacterium. Genome of Listeria monocytogenes is about 2.9 to 3.0 Mbp and has more than 2800 open reading frames. This bacterium can be found in various environments,

  2. especially in fecal matter, solid and raw foods such as raw vegetables, unpasteurized fluid milk and raw or cooked poultry. As a non spore forming bacterium, Listeria monocytogenes have a rather strong resistant to the effects of heat, freezing, and drying. It was found to show a characteristic tumbling motility under light microscopy. At room temperature ((20−25 °C), Listeria monocytogenes is actively motile by means of peritrichous flagella. But the bacterium is unable to synthesize flagella at 37°C. With state-of-art facilities and years of protein/antigen production experience, Creative Diagnostics provides our customer various Listeria monocytogenes antigens and proteins with high quality and cheaper price to meet you different requirements in both academic and industry programs, including L. monocytogenes Internalin, Active Listeriolysin and L. monocytogenes Flagellin.
