  2. What would happen? • If the amount of carbon in our atmosphere does not get reduced these things will happen: • Temperatures will rise which will affect agriculture, storms, and illnesses. • More animals will become extinct because of a change in their environment. • Ocean levels will rise and coastlines will be destroyed. It is estimated that in Australia alone, over 700,000 buildings would be at risk if ocean levels rise.

  3. Change means of transportation • Use bikes, walk, buses or car pool for most of your trips. • Consider hybrids, electric motorbikes, or highly efficient cars. • Purchasing radial tires and keeping them properly inflated will reduce carbon emissions. • Don’t idle your car to warm it up, that wastes gas, injures your car, and contributes to pollution.

  4. Energy proof your home. • There are many ways to energy proof your home.  A lot of these things do not have to be major changes just small things that in quantity could make a huge difference.  Some of these small things are, unplug appliances to outlets when not in use, and switch your light bulbs to fluorescents. These may cost more, but you will eventually save money on the energy saved. You should also turn down your thermostat a couple of degrees in the winter and up a few degrees in the summer, and replace your old appliances with new appliances that are more energy efficient.

  6. Reduction at work. • There are many different ways one can reduce their carbon footprint at work. One way is to have video conferences over traveling to places to meet with clients or representatives. Another way to help your job’s carbon footprint is to try to change the companies way of transportation to a more fuel efficient vehicle. Instead of company jets have your representatives use commercial flights. You can also help reduce your carbon footprint at work by turning off as many lights as possible when the building is closed for the day or vacation.
