Consolidated office functioning efficiently and effectively Implementing ISO/IEC17025 jointly with PALCAN partners Major adjustments in PT Program New contracts with reference labs Parameters reviewed/added Application for accreditation submitted Continued to work with regulatory agencies Ontario Environment Presentations to BC Environment and BC Health Met with Nfld. Environment Responded to Walkerton tragedy 50% increase in site visits PT parameters reviewed SCC/CAEAL/CCIL paper on accreditation Testified at hearing Milestones of 2000/2001

International Efforts2001 • SCC signed ILAC MRA • New SCC geographical mandate: first two SCC/CAEAL accreditations outside North America (Peru) • New Accreditation Program for Water Labs in Latin America and the Caribbean - PAHO/SCC/CAEAL • New Bilateral Arrangement between SCC and NACLA (US) • First ISO Guide 58 evaluator from CAEAL (Denise LeBlanc) • Presented paper at ILAC 2000, and PT paper reprinted in Australia and Hong Kong

Finalize transition from CAN/CSA Z753 to CAN-P-4D (ISO/IEC 17025) Working towards accreditation of PT program Further develop and implement CAEAL training program Continue leadership on water issues Increased efforts with provinces and federal agencies Implement new PAHO/SCC/CAEAL program in the Americas Directions for 2001
