Rules • All MBUSD / MCHS rules apply • No cell phones, ipods, ear-plugs, wearing of hoods or sunglasses, etc. • Remove them when bell rings. • Violation counts as tardy, even if you’re on-time. • Note: 3 tardies results in detention. • Be ready to learn • Always bring a pencil, notebook and paper. • Leave PC’s off, if they are turned off. Rules (continued) • Be respectful, disciplined • No food or drinks in the classroom • Cheating – don’t! • Only a calculator, scratch paper, pens and/or pencils, and the test itself. • No restroom breaks during class • Except on test-days after you have turned in your test. Grading • Quizzes / Tests • Every 2 – 3 weeks, total 40% of grade • Mid-terms & Final • End of each term, each worth 15% of grade • Homework • Weekly/semi-weekly, • 20% of grade • Special Projects • GridWorld 25 % • 6 components to Grid World Mira Costa High School, Computer Science
Scoring • Scoring on Homework / Tests / Special Projects, Mid-Terms, Final • 20% style • Appropriately commented Java code. • Descriptive variable names, correctly indented, vertically spaced Java code. • Correct English, clear and concise writing.
