International Committee Mission • Identify & promote international private-public and interagency engineering opportunities worldwide • Focus activities on international locations with robust industry opportunities with DOD • Participate w/government, industry & professional societies in forums that address international issues relevant to SAME • Serve as ombudsman for international SAME community in concert with the Regional Vice Presidents International Committee

  4. 2010 - 2011 Work Plan Goal 1: Support Capacity Building Initiatives Globally • April 2011 – IC Webinar Series (FA1) – Leverage partnerships established in 2010 with Government and Agency representatives • Year-round (FA1)– Increase communications and support of international Post initiatives – Korea PEC, Middle East Forum, 2011 Webinar Series Goal 2: Support SAME Regional/National Conference Planning and Execution, and Other Regional Initiatives • December 2010 (FA1, 2) – Middle East Forum • February 2011 (FA1) – Korea PEC • July 2011 (FA1,2,3) - EUCOM JETC/SAME University International Committee

  5. 2010 - 2011 Work Plan Goal 3: Target and Expand Inter-Committee and Complementary Professional Organization and Government Interactions • Identify and integrate a USAID Representative into the IC (FA1) • Identify, leverage, and integrate a SAME HQ Young Member into the IC via webinars and IC efforts to improve communication to young members (FA2) International Committee

Accomplishments To Date • February 2010 - Korea Peninsula Engineers Conference - Provided support, sponsorship campaigns and Industry Forum Dinner • April 2010 - International Webinars - Coordinated and delivered to industry business opportunities within the five (5) combatant commands via webinar technology • May 2010 to Present - Increasing communication with Post leadership – EUCOM, PACOM, CENTCOM • May 2010 to Present – Continuing monthly IC calls through the summer to maintain continuity and momentum International Committee

Accomplishments To Date • May 2010 to Present – Advancing efforts to improve communication with the help of SAME HQ staff, particularly to Young Members, via IC webpage updates and increased utilization of alternate communication vehicles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) • June 2010 - Inducted new members into IC from contacts made at SAME National Forum, including 2 Public and 4 Private • July 2010 – EUCOM JETC/SAME University Event in Frankfurt, Germany - Lined-up moderators and speakers for several sessions including the “Sustainability in Europe” session • September 2010 - Strengthened our commitment to IC Young Members via webinar planning and webpage and communication updates International Committee

Issues for Discussion • SAME HQ support of ME Forum – Dec 2010/Early 2011 • SAME HQ support of IC Webinar Series – Apr 2011 • SAME HQ appetite for supporting a Forum/Conference in Guam • Date coordination for the following events: • ME Forum – Dec 2010/early 2011 • Korea PEC – Feb 2011 • IC Webinar Series – Apr 2011 • EUCOM JETC/SAME University Event – July 2011 • AFRICOM JETC- June/July 2011 • SAME HQ promotion of Regional VPs joining IC • SAME HQ recommendation for SOUTHCOM VC and/or USAID Rep International Committee
